I am trying to program our AK5 coin acceptor so that it works with EURO coins.

I have followed the instructions on this page here:

The problem is that after I put the Setting Switch to START (after finishing the programming), it displayes "EE" for any coin that I put into the slot, and the coin is not accepted. It shows "EE" even for the coins that I used to program the machine.

So... the problem is that I am not able to correctly program the acceptor so that it recognizes any coins.

Do you have any idea what is the problem?

(The acceptor is about 2 years old, although it was never used until now. It has been sitting in storage since I purchased it...)

1. please switch back and forth to make sure the start-setting switch is on the start position

It might be dirty on the sensors,
2. we recommend that you obtain a can of compressed air and guide the
output toward the end of tunnel path area. This will remove any excess dust or foreign objects that may have collected over
the sensors located along the end of tunnel path.
3. you can also clean the coin acceptors' reflection mirror, which is a transparent part at the front entry.
