Help with AH5 Model 1 for Xbox 360 coin acceptor set example

Post by fatreap70 »

I have a few questions setting this up

1. Can I set the AC5 for $1 US coins?

2. There are 4 USB plug ins in the box. What plugs into them? Which one plugs into the Xbox 360 console and which ones are for the controllers? Does it matter?

1. Yes, you can setup AC5 for $1 US coin, just let it output 4 times pulse value that Quarter does.
2. 4 USB plugs, 1 and 2 is a set for player 1, 3 and 4 is a set for player 2 or wise verse.
you can connect 1 to XBox 360 , 2 to XBox 360 controller, or you can connect 2 to XBox 360 , 1 to XBox 360 controller.
Seam for seconds controller.

Thanks for the answer. I assume the ports are from top to bottom. If that's wrong, please correct me.

I got the coin part working and I will explain in detail how I did it for those who may need help.

1. Plug in and wait at least 10 minutes before programming. This seems to be very important.

2. First, you must erase the current settings. To do that do the following 3 steps.
1. Turn the sensitive switch to the NOM position.
2. Turn the setting switch to the SET position. The LED will display 00.
3. Press and hold the coin adjust switch until C is displayed. The current setting are now erased.

3. Verify the following 4 switch settings and set if necessary.
1. Turn the open/close switch to NO position.
2, Turn the time switch to the FAST position.
3. Turn the sensitve switch to the NOM position.
4. Turn the setting switch to the SET postion.

4. Press the coin adjust switch once and 01 should be displayed.

5. Drop in 10 of your smallest valued coin. After 10 drops, an F will be on the display. This is your base value setting. All other settings will be based on this setting.

6. For your next valued coin, multiply the value of your base coin value X the number on the display = next coin value. For example, see the chart below for more detail.

Base Value = 5 cents, dime = 02 display setting, quarter = 05 display setting, dollar coin = 20 display setting.

7. After you do this for all your coins, turn the sensitive switch to MGN.

8. Now you want to set up your credit value setting. You do this by pressing the coin adjust switch to the right LED number. Using the example above for the base coin value setting as 5 cents, 01 gives you credit for 5 cents, 02 gives you credit for 10 cents, 03 = 15 cents, 05 = 25 cents, 20 = $1.00, you get the point. With my setup, I did have to go all the way to 99, then back to 01 to get it to work. You may need to do this.

9. Turn the setting switch to START and you should be good to go.

All the steps are correct and clear. Thank for sharing.
Thanks your so much for your detailed step by step setup for the coin acceptor.
It is very helpful for other users, we may include your step by step in our manual if you do not mind. :)
Here is the manual for the setup in case it is not supplied.

• Turn the Sensitive switch to the “NOM” position
• Turn the setting switch to the “SET” position to enter the programming mode, the LED will display “00”
• Keep pressing the Adjust Setting Switch for 5 seconds or more until you hear a “Beep” sound. The LED should display “C”, to indicate that the previous coin values were cleared.
• Turn the setting switch to the “START” position to exit the programming mode
2. To erase the previous one specified type coin value setting
NOTICE: This setting was meant for advance users only
• Turn the Sensitive switch to the “NOM” position
• Turn the setting switch to the “SET” position to enter the programming mode, the LED will display “00”.
• The Adjust Setting Switch will increase the coin value by each press. Keep press the button until the desired setting is reached. (For example, if coin Quarter value is 2, the let the LED display “02”)

If the desirable value passed, just turn the setting switch to “START” then turn back to “SET” again the LED will display “00”, the value can be selected again.
• Deposit the coins in turn, can program up to 10 coins .If less than 10 coins can add and store later. For example can prepare 10 quarters as different condition as possible. Or can deposit 10 same or different tokens.
• Repeat above two steps to set other coin values.
• Turn the setting switch to the “START” position to exit programming mode
